Acupuncture on Arthritis, Headaches, General Lethargy and Eczema due to 20 years of anti-rheumatic medicines

On her first visit to my clinic in 2005, she had suffered from Arthritis of the joints, headaches and general lethargy. She had also symptoms such as cold limbs and extremities. This problem was relieved after 6 treatments. Due to her short stay in Singapore, she would always arrange for time to come in for treatments for her shoulders and knees.

In 2007, on her 2 separate visits, I was surprised to find her with Eczema and skin allergies on her face. I managed to find out that she had been taking a group of anti-rheumatic medicines for her Arthritic Inflammation over 20 years. Upon further research I found out that some of the medications would bring on undesired complications. Eg, Skin conditions, Eczema.

For her skin allergies on the face, I had selected ECIWO Head of 2nd metacarpal bone, Quchi, Sanyinjiao, Dazhui, Fengchi, for two treatments a day.

Acupuncture on Acute Lumbago

Patient had been suffering from Acute Lumbago for 2 years. Underwent various scans in the specialists’ clinics. Conclusion on treatment recommended was to go through operation and a series of osteoporotic preventions such as physiotherapy.

Auricular Diagnosis were Liv80, Ub72, K76, Li78 and Gb78. Acute back pain for 2 years affecting the left leg, with pain and numbness. Pain also radiate upward to shoulders. There was inflammation of the tendons, joints on the left limbs, and was unable to sit down for long. Points selected were E-System Neck & Lumbar, ECIWO Kidney, Zhongzhu, Futu, Fengchi, Xialiao, Weizhong and Juegu.

The treatments were performed once daily, followed by alternate days. She had made remarkable progress from the treatments. The gradual improvements were observed on each occasion she came for her treatments. She had also verbalized of the reduction in pain since the treatments.

At the end of her treatments, she was able to move her arms, and there was no longer pain from her shoulders down to her arms. She was able to sit up for longer period of time. She had received only 8 sittings instead of 15 sessions, which I had thought she would require.

Acupuncture on Breast Cancer – Case 2

Breast Cancer, 58, Indonesia, Housewife, 0605-01

CA Breast. The tumour can be palpated. History of Hypertension, taking Cozaar, half a tablet OM. Symptoms including belching, indigestion and bloatedness in the stomach, cold perspiration, poor circulation, cold hands and feet. TCM diagnosis with External “Xu” & Internal “Heat”, therefore causing heat in the body and lead to insomnia.

Patient has received treatments of around 36 times between May 2006 to April 2007. Each time she is in Singapore she will receive an average of 3 to 5 days of treatment, 2 times a day. Points selected were ECIWO Lung, Kidney, Zhongwan, Qihai, Zhusanli, Feishu, Xinshu and Shenshu. Traditional Chinese Herbs, such as Ling Zhi Broken Spores, Ning Shen Bu Nao Fu Fang, were recommended to patient, as a reinforcing treatment therapy.

Follow up at the hospital specialist clinic showed that the cancerous tumour disappeared, on the Left side, 3 small ones had been found growing and the right 2 Lumps had gradually disappeared. She had later brought her family members including her son, daughter-in-law, sister and husband to Singapore for consultations and health maintenance treatments.

Acupuncture on Chronic Cough

Mr Gwee had a history of chronic cough for over 6 months. There were throat irritations, hoarse voice, and dry sputum. The extent of coughing had been worrying to his children. He had been seen and treated by doctors and TCM practitioners for several years with no results and Chest X-ray showed no active infected nodes.

On his first visit, he had uncontrollable cough, which had caused alarm to other patients. From the Auricular finding, the energy levels at 89/54 with Lungs 87. Therefore, points taken on him were mainly regional- such as on the Chest and the Lungs – and Large Intestine channel, included ECIWO Lungs, E-system Neiguan, Tiantu, Zhongwan, Zhusanli and Feishu.

His cough had been under control after 3 sittings of treatments. I had prescribed some pills that helped him to lubricate the throat and tonics for the lungs. However, he had been coming back on a regular basis to keep up his health. His daughter would bring him in on all his appointments.

Acupuncture on Chronic Sinusitis of 6 years

Suffered from Chronic Sinusitis for 6 years and had a history of Asthma. Easily affected by weather, air pollution and sensitivity. Points selected from ECIWO Head and Shangxing Baihui, Yingxiang, Zusanli, Neiting. His wife noticed the difference that night he went home and he had managed to sleep very well.

Other points included Neiguan, Yintang, Waiguan, Baihui, Dazhui and Fengchi. Additional points applied on him including, Feishu and ECIWO Lungs of the 2nd metacarpal bone. It took him 11 sittings altogether.

Because he was recovered from acupuncture treatments, he introduced a fellow colleague who had suffered from Severe Rhinitis and Tinnitus to treatment with Acupuncture too, in hope that he was able to benefit from this ancient form of medicine.

Acupuncture on Infertility

Had no long standing disease or illnesses but leading a high stress lifestyle due to work. She was married for two years, with no children and no history of gynecology problems.

First visit energy reading at 94 / 65. UB 93, K 92, LU84 and LI 88. Acupoints selected were ECIWO KIDNEYS of the 2nd Metacarpal Bone, Guanyuan, Sanyingjiao, Chenjiang, Shenshu, Yaoyangguan and Waiguan.

Completed 1 course of 8 treatments within 1 month and followed by resting the body for 2 months. On the return visit to follow up on her condition, she mentioned that she was pregnant from the first course of treatment. Subsequently prescribed 3 sessions of maintenance treatments to maintain her health but she took only 2 sessions. Reduced her work and focused on the pregnancy.

8 months pregnant- She revisited the clinic to bring the news that she had been in good state of health. No high blood pressure, diabetes or abnormal increase in weight. She had a healthy look and is in good spirit. Slight swelling was observed on the legs but had no difficulty in walking and was able to go about independently. Took leave from work to focus on the pregnancy.

Acupuncture on Miscarriage, accompanied with Irregular Menstruation

Married with 1 child but suffered 2 times miscarriage, accompanied with Irregular Menstruation. Sought Acupuncture in London, 1 course of 8 sessions, and took up Herbal Remedies and Vitamins Therapy. Ultrasounds and blood tests were done several occasions to determine the cause for her hormonal imbalance and relation to her unnatural labour. However, scan results had shown no abnormality in the reproductive systems and blood results showed normal readings During treatment, points selected were ECIWO Kidneys, Guanyuan, Zhusanli, Sanyinjiao, Chensan.

Throughout the treatment, I had discovered that she had rather weak immunity, presenting with pre-cold syndromes often and having throat discomforts, respiratory problems, etc. Therefore following points were selected to treat the symptoms, including Dazhui, Mingmen, Yaoyangguan, Feishu.

She had completed 1 course of 8 treatments within 1 month, followed by recommendation to rest the body for duration of about 1 month. After which, she continued with treatments for health maintenance basis for another month, 5 treatments. Last course of treatments of 5 sessions reaped results. On the 2 treatment of the third course, she experienced temperature surges that relate to her ovulation. On the last session, she brought in good news of being pregnant for 4 weeks and her health was in good state with no experience of previously mentioned symptoms.

Maintenance treatments were recommended to keep up the health and energy unless necessary. Also advised were treatments to protect fetus if there are signs of breached fetus in the later stage of pregnancy.

Acupuncture on Nasal Congestion, Migraines and Tinnitus

Chief complaints were blocked nose, tension headaches and migraines. He had undergone operation but the symptoms persisted. Also experienced combination of symptoms included tinnitus, occasional deafness in the ears, soundings in the brain, belching and bloated abdomen. Altogether he had received 10 acupuncture treatments by a TCM Acupuncturist before but no effect. For the treatment I administered, points selected were ECIWO of the 2nd metacarpal bone and E-system of Liver, Kidney and Stomach, also Qihai, Zhusanli, Neiguan, Tinggong.

Other points taken included Fengchi, Baihui, Ganshu, Weishu, Zhongwan, Waiguan, Yanglao, Sanyingjiao, Tinghui and Ermen.

He had received total of 10 treatments, major symptoms had disappeared and was very happy.

Acupuncture on Thyroid Disorder of 3 years

A case of Thyroid Disorder for 3 years, maintained condition by western medications and regular follow-ups in the Endocrine Clinic. Blood results showed close to abnormal readings of TSH prior to the first visit to our centre. There was however inflammation on the thyroid glands which was recommended by the doctors in the hospital to surgically remove the gland. On the first visit in Jan 2007, readings was taken at 94/56, K90 and GB91. He was lethargic and obese (r/t thyroid disorder).
Points selected were ECIWO THROAT & THROAT of 2nd metacarpal bone, Neiguan, Zusanli, Sanyinjiao, Tiantu, Shang Yintang, Zhaohai, Zhongwan, Dazhui, Fengchi and Fengfu. Treatments were administered for 1 course of 5 treatments within 3 days. After the treatments, previous inflammation of the thyroid gland had subsided. Returned to Indonesia with Rhubarb and Tea herbal medicines as continuation of treatment.

On the next visit to Singapore, 8 months after, he had confirmed that the thyroid disorder was gone. The blood tests conducted at the Endocrine Clinic showed that he had normal readings without the thyroid medications.
